Blackberries and Touch Screens

It doesn't look like Apple iPhones will be the only mobile device with a touch screen for much longer. Looks like Blackberries will offer devices that have touch screens before long. Checkout the following link for more exciting details: http://www.brighthand.com/default.asp?newsID=14336

iPhone

Many have been asking what I thought of the iPhone. Well, now I can tell you. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and my overall first impression is WOW! One of the coolest things has to be the touch screen. I'm just starting to check out all the features and third party applications. I'll post more as I learn more! Anyone else out there in love with their iPhone?

Publication

Finally have the good news many have been waiting for! The publication mentioned in the blog of Feb 19, 2008 will be published in the Winter edition of the Journal of Allied Health. In took a long time in the making but it's finally about to happen.

Nutrition Informatics Survey

Interested in helping ADA move forward into the area of Nutrition Informatics? If so, I encourage you to complete the survey that has just been sent to EVERY ADA member. The link to the survey is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=l8DCukUCN0_2bix2JbaIAMag_3d_3d

And please, don't feel like you don't know enough about Nutrition Informatics. The survey is designed to be a baseline of where we are today so we know where we need to go tomorrow. Your answers are important.

Remember, it is up to each and every one of us to help ADA move in the direction we think they should go. Providing them with valuable information is a step in the right direction.

Thank you for your time.

Technology at FNCE

It just keeps getting better and better! Each year at ADA's Food & Nutrition Conference and Expo, there are opportunities to learn about how technology impacts the dietetics profession. If you were lucky enough (as Peggy and I were) to attend the show in Philly this year, you would have had many choices. From the opening session on embracing change (technology is part of that change, of course), to open discussions on Electronic Health Records and a Nutrition Informatics DPG, to the fantastic lecture "Thriving in a Virtual Business Landscape," to the dozens of high-tech products and services shown at Product Marketplace and the Exhibits... there was something for everyone. PDAs, of course, were everywhere, as was a buzz about their use in dietetics and healthcare.
